What We Do
For the World
In order to achieve the United Nations SDG, 169 industrial projects have to be completed and the costs of their implementation amounted to more than $ 4 billion dollars annually. This is a very ambitious task, even for the United Nations on its scale, on the number of different projects and necessary funding. Due to these facts for the first time in its history, the United Nations created the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, which is intended to combine efforts, capacities, and resources of the UN Member States, the global business community, and civil society, including NGOs.
For the State
In today’s world in order to achieve economic growth, the State has to do a phenomenal amount of work, including comprehensive work of economic experts with a follow up on the promotion of positive results to the international community to create a positive investment image and increase inflows of capital (financial, human, technological and other). An important role in these matters plays civil society and non-governmental organizations who are able to make a significant contribution by promoting states’ achievements inside international organizations (including all UN bodies).
For the Territorial entities of the upper level (states, regions, provinces, lands)
Regions of any country in the world strive to achieve sustainable economic growth in order to improve the living conditions of their people and to find new possibilities for further development of their territory. An important element of regional development strategy is an improvement of the investment climate and region’s image, both within their country and in the international arena. To achieve the most positive results in this regard Region- leaders work in several directions, including working with the international community and demonstrating to them the most attractive aspects of their region to do business, relocating production on their territories. Of course, the ultimate and essential aim of the heads of regional teams is a significant increase of FDI and as a result economic and social recovery of the Region.
For business
The new United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), adopted by the international community at the end of September 2015, carry out practical helpful guidance, including among others members of the global business community. SDG had been designed in a way that already contains in itself all the necessary elements for commercial companies who want to ensure the sustainability of their business plan over the long term period, and they provide a framework for sustainable corporate growth for organizations. Michael Meehan, CEO of the Global Reporting Initiative, agreed with this, saying, ” This is really about building trust not only in companies but also in your markets, in your sectors, and in the economy as a whole. It’s about adapting strategies and business models to rising above the fray of short-termism,” he added.
For NGOs
WOD founded the “International NGOs’ Club” in 2015 to bring together different non-governmental organizations around the world in consultative status with ECOSOC United Nations, also international NGOs seeking to cooperate with the UN bodies and experts from civil society worldwide. The mission of the “International NGOs’ Club” is to activate qualified representatives of civil society around the world in order to join efforts to achieve 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
